The History of the Laser Level

The most commonly used laser level is the rotary laser level because of the accuracy and improvement of efficiency in the construction industry. Levels have long been helping to get walls straight, level, and plumb. The original level was the spirit level which was a small vial with a bubble of water inside. Later the level developed into the more traditional bubble level. Then with the invention of the laser, levels evolved into the laser levels of today. A level that shoots out a colored line of light to help give reference points for getting construction areas plumb, level, and straight.
The improvement on the laser level was the rotary laser level, which the head of the level spins in circle on a stand throwing the light around the location. The rotary laser level generally comes with a self-leveling option to ensure the light stays level, rather than falling off if the ground of area shifts. Over the years as technology has improved, so has the rotary laser level. It has become more compact and easier to transport from location to location making them even more useful. The laser level also can now give dotted lines or the solid line, to help with tile placement or other job plumbing placements.
